Mohanlal And Meera Won Best Actor Awards In Kerala |

Two of the superstars of the Malayalam film industry, named Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine, have been awarded in the annual Kerala State Film Awards for 2007, on Tuesday. The actors have won the awards of Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively in the ceremony and they have won the awards for their brilliant performances in the films named Paradeshi and Orae Kadal respectively. The Culture Minister of Kerala, M A Baby has presented the awards to the brilliant actors on the occasion.
While speaking on the award giving ceremony, M A Baby said, "In all 26 films were judged by the jury with Assamese director Jahnu Barua as chairman". The sources informed that the film named Adhyalangal has won the best film award and the director of the film, M G Sasi has received the best director trophy for directing the film. The veteran Malayalam actor, who has also performed very well in the Bollywood film named Company, Mohanlal was quite excited after receiving the award and while expressing his happiness, he said, "Any award is certainly a huge appreciation and I am certainly happy". The other actress who got the Best Actress award, Meera Jasmine was also expressing her joy after her name was announced and said, "Irrespective of how many awards are won by an actor or actress, every new award is a huge boost".
One of the top officials from the organizing committee of the annual Kerala State Film Awards has stated that Vijay, the son of highly popular singer, K J Yesudas, has got the award for Best Male Playback Singer (Nivedyam). The official added that the Best Female Playback Singer award went to Shwetha, the daughter of Sujatha, for the same film. While commenting on the success of his both children who got the singing awards, the veteran singer, K J Yesudas said, "This is a great honour for our family". The official further informed that the ace comedian and character actor Jagathy Sreekumar won the Special Jury Award for the film, Paradeshi, Arabikatha and Veralipattu and the famous villain of yesteryear and the present President of the Cochin Devasom Board, T G Ravi got a Special Mention Award for his roles in the films like Adhyalangal and Ottakkayyan, that were released last year.
