Bajaj Launching Four New Bikes Soon |

One of the leading two-wheeler maker companies in India, Bajaj Auto Ltd has recently announced that it is planning to launch a number of four new 125 cc bikes in the Indian market in the upcoming financial year. The new financial year is starting in the month of April and the company officials have stated that they are launching the new bikes as it is intending to maintain its profitability in a tough market. The company made the announcement on Monday and also said that the first of the four bikes is likely to be launched very soon.
The industry sources have informed that the Bajaj Auto is currently trailing behind the market leader, Hero Honda Motors Ltd. According to the officials of the company, the sales of the 125 cc motorbikes has already grown to account for 36 percent of the market and it is also having a higher share of its profitability. The Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj has commented in an official statement, "In view of this unmistakable consumer trend in favour of 125 cc motorcycles, Bajaj has planned to launch four new 125 cc motorcycles in FY2008/09".
The Bajaj Auto Ltd is actually a unit of the Bajaj Holdings, and has recently announced that it would exit the highly competitive 100 cc segment. The company informed that the sales of its 125 cc bikes went up by 26 percent in the 11-month period of the current fiscal till February and the sales of its entry-level 100 cc bikes have decreased about 32 percent during the same period. The company further stated in the official statement, "In an economy that is currently inflationary and in a market that is expected to continue to be generally difficult, Bajaj believes its strategy will continue to provide for stable profitability".
