The major automobile company from India, Tata Motors and the famous automobile engineer Guy Negre are going to launch a brand new car very soon that will be able to run on £1 of compressed air for over one hundred miles. The sources related to the car`s development have informed that the concept of the car has been designed by former F1 engineer, Mr. Negre and Tata is associating him in producing the car. The sources added that the car will be having a top speed of 90mph and it would return the equivalent of 120mpg. The car would also have zero emissions and it is likely to hit the market in this year.
Informing that the car has the possibility to come within a price range of between £2,500 and £3,000, one of the sources said that the users could use the compressed air from petrol stations in order to fill the car`s tanks. The source added that the users could also use the pressurized air for moving the pistons of the car. There is also an electric motor included in the car that works for increasing air pressure and that has to be topped up periodically. According to the source, the users can fill the tanks with air from a compressor in just three minutes and they also have the option to plug the vehicle into mains for powering an onboard compressor.
While talking about the other features of the new car, another source informed that the car is consisting a fiberglass frame that uses its own emissions as air conditioning. The car is named as the OneCAT and it was likely to go on sale in India and Europe in the later part of this year. The source also said that the larger models of the car would come with an additional fuel tank for petrol, diesel or ethanol for heating air and increase pressure for the longer journeys.
