India Got Shocking 50 Runs Defeat From Australia

The Indian cricket has faced yet another defeat to the world champions Australia in the ongoing tri-series as they lost by 50 runs on Sunday. The inexperienced Indian side could not take the advantage of restricting the Australians for only 203 runs with their brilliant bowling and thus collapsed totally for only 153 runs. None of the Indian batsmen could stay longer in the crease in front of the fiery Australian bowling and as a result they lost the match miserably.

Batting first in the match, the Australian side could not get a good start as they lost their first wicket on 25 runs, in the name of Adam Gilchrist. The poor form of the Aussie skipper, Rickey Ponting continued in this match also, as he got out to a Munaf Patel delivery shortly after Gilchrist`s dismissal. Australia was 41/2 at that moment and they got into an even bigger trouble when they lost the wickets of Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds in quick intervals. Their worries continued further and they lost their 5th and 6th wicket after small partnerships and Australia was on 112/6 at one point of the match.

However, Michael Clarke and Brad Hogg showed some great determination in their innings to give some sort of relief to their team and they put on a very good partnership of 72 runs for the seventh wicket. The Indian bowlers then came back nicely to take three Australian wickets within a span of a few balls and thus to restrict Australia for only 203 runs for 9 wickets from the stipulated 50 overs.

Gautam Gambhir was the only Indian top order batsman to score a good 34 runs and after his dismissal, the Indian skipper MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh played well to put on a partnership of 56 runs. Both of the batsmen were looking to be in great touch and just when the Indian fans thought to get the win easily, Yuvraj Singh lost his patience and got out on a score of 26 runs. The rest of the Indian batsmen then showed a miserable performance and India got all out on a score of only 153 runs, in spite of a brave attempt from the skipper Dhoni, who scored 37 runs. With this win, the Australian team has secured its place in the finals of the tournament and now the other two teams like India and Sri Lanka will struggle hard for the other place in the finals.
