Yuvraj is now Dhoni`s vice-captain for World Twenty20

Yuvraj Singh has been announced as the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team as a replacement of injured Virender Sewhag for the ongoing World Twenty20. Sehwag had to opt out of the championship due to a shoulder injury.

In a statement on Friday, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Yuvraj will be Mahendra Singh Dhoni`s deputy in Sehwag`s absence.

Sehwag, who did not play a single match, has been replaced by Dinesh Karthik. Sehwag had said that he was injured during the Indian Premier League semi-final and it led to speculation that the opener did not come clean on his injury before the World Twenty20.
