Peanut butter five days a week is good for heart: Study

According to a new study, snacking on peanuts or peanut butter five days a week can halve the risk of a heart attack.

Scientists from Harvard Medical School reviewed thousands of women with type two diabetes, a condition associated with obesity, inactivity and poor diet, which also increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Among the 6,000 women studied, those who regularly ate peanuts had the greatest protection against heart attacks, with the risk reduced by up to 44 per cent. The study has been published in the Journal of Nutrition.
