Monsoon to boom in central India |

Pune: The northern limit of southwest monsoon goes through Lat. 23.0°N / Long 60.0°E and Lat. 23.0°N / Long. 65.0°E, Bhuj, Baroda, Indore, Hoshangabad, Rajnandgaon, Cuttack, Balasore, Bankura and Gangtok till date.
It is estimated that conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa and remaining parts of West Bengal & Sikkim and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours.
An off-shore trough at mean sea level extends from north Konkan coast to Kerala coast. Under its influence, widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely along west coast during next 2-3 days.
Heat wave conditions are widespread over some parts of north Rajasthan and at isolated pockets of Punjab and Jammu region. They are likely to decline from the above regions during next 48 hours.
The highest maximum temperature of 46.0°C was recorded at Ganganagar (Rajasthan). Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over west coast, Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Vidarbha during next 48 hours.
Advance of monsoon likely over remaining parts of central India and some parts of northwest India.
