Maharaja Ranjitsingh Gaekwad of Vadodara`s royal family is going to exhibit his work at the Fine Arts gallery of London, which includes 30 paintings and 15 sculptures.

These will be displayed in a solo exhibition starting from 17th June in London. His paintings and sculptures depict the subject `Goats and kings and other such things`.

Maharaja`s love for art has kept him occupied all his life guiding children at painting workshops, performing in musical programme and displaying his skills on canvas.

Speaking about his ground work for preparing the art pieces, Gaekwad said, "Last year I had been invited by Fine arts gallery of London to prepare paintings and sculptures on the subject. Since then, I have been working very hard on it. The subject is different and to give proper justice to it, I had to understand behavior and nature of goats."

Gaekwad had personally visited the Salatwada and some other areas of Vadodara to take pictures of goats. He informed, "I visited such areas on the day of Bakri Eid so can see and understand their behavior closely. I clicked their pictures as a base to create paintings. I collected pictures of kings and goats and then created paintings depicting the subject."

Gaekwad has prepared 15 sculptures on the topic and they are made from mud, wax and fiber. He added, "Sculptures was new to me so I took help from an expert. All my sculptures are made from mud, wax and fiber."

His 30x20 and 15x20 sized paintings and other sculptures are already on their way to London where they will be exhibited for ten days. Ranjitsingh Gaekwad has a MA degree in Arts. He also has done a diploma from London`s Royal Academy of Arts. This will be his 11th solo exhibition.
