Karnataka Govt. devises new policy to boost Health & Heritage Tourism |

The Karnataka government is planning a new Tourism Policy to give a boost to Health and Heritage Tourism in the state.
The state government is planning to promote a project at Hampi on 235 acre, which will have a five-star hotel with 200 rooms, budget hotel, restaurant, entertainment areas and other tourism related activities. The project will involve investment worth Rs 800-1000 crore.
Under the policy, the state government has proposed two mega Health and Heritage Tourism projects, which are likely to attract investments worth Rs 1800 crore to Rs 2000 crore respectively. A health city is proposed to come up on 300 acre near Bengaluru International Airport, which will have super-speciality hospitals for neurology, cardiology, rehabilitation centres for alcohol and drug addicts, ayurveda hospital and hotels.
The health city will be developed in the next two-three years through PPP mode where the state government will act as a facilitator and provide land while investment worth Rs 1000 crore is expected to come from private players.
