Jain Irrigation to supply mango pulp worth Rs 158cr to Coca-Cola |

Mumbai: Jain Irrigation Systems has won Rs 158-crore order for the supply of mango pulp to Coca-Cola in India and abroad.
In a press release, the company said that the current order was 85% higher compared with the previous season. The mango pulp will be produced in the current mango season, but dispatched over next year. Mango remains the largest revenue earner for the product portfolio of Jain Irrigation.
The food division of the company is the largest processor of fruits and vegetables in India with a processing facility in the U.S. Its fruit processing plants in India is located at Jalgaon in Maharashtra and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
The core strength of the division is the focus on quality that has been attested by certifications such as ISO 22000, GMA, SAFE, BRC etc. Recently, the division received ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certifications for environment, health and safety. The company has targeted to process a record 1.75 lakh tonnes of fruits and 85,000 tonnes of vegetables this year.
The agro major has been working closely with farmers in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to boost mango yields. The company has also started an initiative to buy mangoes directly from farmers and set up contract farming in the growing regions. The company not only provides irrigation systems to small farmers but also offer support through its R&D farms located in Jalgaon, Chittoor and Udumalpet in Tamil Nadu.
