NDTV Imagine to start airing "Seeta Aur Geeta" from May 25 |

NDTV Imagine is going to recreate the magic of Hema Malini starrer Seeta Aur Geeta in the form of serial from May 25.
Lead actress Anjorie Alagh confirmed the news but she refused to comment on the time slot saying that the channel will take a final call.
According to an industry source, a final call on the time slot is yet to be taken. Anjorie, the heroine of 1920 does not feel that the delay will affect the show. The actress, who is the daughter of Maya Alagh quipped, "All that finally matters is good quality."
Earlier, the shows launch was delayed as the lead actress Mouni Roy was replaced by Anjorie. Secondly, IPL has prevented launch of most new shows across all channels.
It is also reported that Rituraj Singh is doing an important role in the show. Confirming the news, the actor who was last seen in Yahan ke Hum Sikandar said, "I will be joining hands with Sushmita Mukherjee (both essay husband wife) to make Seeta`s life hell. My character Mahendra Singh Rahtod is quite a loud villain when compared to the original film where Satyen Kappu played an insipid character and was cast opposite Manorama. This was one reason why I was reluctant when this offer came to me, but the creatives convinced me that they have changed the script and I will have meat."
Rituraj further informed that the character of his brother-in-law which Ranjit played in the original film will be essayed by Amitosh Nagpal.
Both the lead actress and Rituraj think that the show will not soon fade away as the original content was only for three hours. They said, "We are confident that we will not drag as fresh tracks will be developed with time."
Rituraj also discarded rumors that Anjorie was chosen because of her family connections to Sameer Nair (CEO NDTV Imagine). He said, "She got the role because she deserved it." He also informed that Mouni Roy was indeed dropped from the show, but declined to talk about the reason.
Anjorie refused to comment on her entering as second choice by saying, "I did not even know about her when I auditioned."
Producer Sunil Bohra added, "The show will be launching in the end of May. The time slot has not been decided yet."
Cezanne Khan will make his comeback through this show Sanjeev Kumar`s role, while the versatile Rahil Azam plays the role of Dharmendra.
