Nature based home decor themes help to beat heat in summer |

Themes of home decoration are an important part while revamping decoration in summer. It is best to opt for nature based themes as it brings coolness feel to home.
Mumbai-based home and interiors boutique, The Great Eastern Home, has a variety of Kilims, which work on the idea of keeping the temperature of the floor and the room stable.

Floral prints have been given significance as also preference to natural-abstract forms. These are priced between Rs 1,200 and Rs 3,000, the floral prints and light shades in furnishings and towels are appropriate for summer.
D K Jairath, COO, Hindware Home Retail which owns home furnishing brand EVOK, said that furnishings, curtains and linens in natural colours such as green, blue and yellow give a feeling of cool atmosphere in the house as they absorb minimum heat and energy.
He added, "Products and accessories with floral effect offer a sense of serenity. In summer, people prefer to buy furnishings made of cotton as being a light and user-friendly material, it keeps the surroundings cool. Wooden and bamboo shoot cane can be used as curtains for doors and windows as being an eco-friendly material; it works as a bad conductor of heat. It cuts the heat effectively and gives effective ventilation."
One of the easy ways of cooling a room is to change its colour scheme and add cool colours like calming shades of blue, green or lilac. The latest trend is to use coloured accessories in transparent or translucent materials such as glass or crystal to offer a breezy accent to a room.
Meenakshi Salve, designer and owner, Ame De Verre, a luxury boutique of art decoratives, said that a leading global trend in the spring-summer home decor collection has been the use of patterns inspired from nature. She added, "Every colour has unique properties on the basis of which it can be classified into warm, cool or a neutral category. Whether it is in the form of a window, a door, a centre table piece or a lamp the correct usage of colour and patterns can create a cooling effect."
