Intl passengers to be screened from today for swine flu

Swine flu has created havoc all over hence all international passengers will be screened on arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from early hours of Wednesday. Passenger health checks will be done at the international arrivals near Gate 34B.

According to a GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited spokesperson, arrangements have been set up in case of an emergency.

The process of medical checks will start even before passengers get down from the fight. A format of health check sheet prepared by the APHO (Airport Health Organisation) and Director General Health Services (DGHS) would be handed over to Airline crew for filling up by passengers before arrival at the airport from Wednesday. The passengers would also be provided health kits.

Airport managers of international airlines would also be advice airline crew to make in flight announcements asking passengers suffering from fever, cough and respiratory problems to contact health officials at the arrival gate in the aircraft itself before the passengers get down from the plane.

Intl passengers to be screened from today for swine flu The health officials would be informed by airline crew about the suspected swine flue cases. Passengers arriving from Mexico, New Zealand, the UK and Europe will be under special scrutiny.
