Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa of Sony TV is going to have a new host in Rohit Roy who takes over from Shiv Pandit from this week.
Sony`s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Season 3 is going in for a major change as Rohit takes over as anchor replacing Shiv Pandit, while Shweta Tiwari continues to co-host the show.
The platform of Jhalak is not new to Rohit, as he was the anchor along with Mona Singh last year.
Confirming the news, Rohit Roy said, "It`s great to be back on the most classy dance reality show. I am not only saying this as an anchor but as a viewer as well."
Speaking about Shiv`s abrupt exit from the show, Rohit stated, "I know him quite well and its not that he was not up to the mark; it`s just that few things just don`t connect. It was a matter of great pride when Juhi remarked that my entry had taken the show up quite a few notches."
According to industry sources, "Shiv left the show as he has to head for his movie project, and the schedules were clashing. There was another factor too which was his hosting, which was not up to the mark. Now, Rohit will be the permanent host of the show."
Another high point of this week`s episode will be that Mona Singh will join in to host the show with Rohit Roy. The source added, "She is hosting the show for one episode only. Shweta will get back from Saturday`s episode."
Shiv Pandit on his part dismissed all allegations that he was dropped from Jhalak. He stated, "I had always been contracted for a particular number of episodes. I have had problems with Jhalak dates right from day one; anyways now that my contract is over I have moved on."
Shiv got a bit defensive when pushed on the above allegation and said, "I don`t have time for such nonsense. Why should I believe anybody else when I know that everything between all the concerned parties is over? Sony has been very good to me both my big ticket anchoring shows (Jhalak and IPL Season 1) have been with them."
Rohit expressed his happiness at the level of performers the show has this season. He said, "It is much more severe than the first two seasons. All the six contestants who remain are exceptional; also the remaining six who will fight it out in the Wild card round are perfect. My personal favorite in the round was Gauhar, as she was mind-boggling."
