Bombay Meal offers healthy dabbas to office-goers at workplace

Bombay Meal, an initiative by Sane Care Pvt. Ltd, has offered a unique concept of healthy dabbas, which they will deliver to the office-goers of Mumbai as Tiffin made from diet specific healthy food at the workplace.

The hot climate of Mumbai and short lunching hours leave have left many working professionals empty stomach or junk food addicts. Although the dabbawallas seemed to have provided some solution, but the homemade food that they packed though tasted well could never give a promise on quality.

Bombay Meal will supply high quality vegetarian Indian cuisine from the kitchens of the renowned Woodlands, which has earned a reputation in the restaurant business since 30 years. Bombay Meal will offer a range of high fibre, low calorie lunch specialties for those who have been advised special diet.

Each lunch pack of Bombay Meal is priced at Rs 60 and Rs 100 each. It is offering a "Bombay meal Executive" and "Bombay meal Royal" packs starting from May 4. The diet of Bombay Meal will cater to cardiac patients, diabetic patients, women and obese individuals.

Rohit Sane, director, Vaidya Sane Ayurved said, "We take utmost care to source best organic ingredients. The ingredients are handpicked, supplied by organic ingredients makers and carefully handled. The food is cooked in the right conditions to keep its nutrition intact by trained chefs. There is no usage of artificial additives."

The meal makers assure to use the steel dabbas to pack their food as they are economical and environment friendly. The company has decided to use re-usable dabbas. The dabbas will be carried from delivery centres located in Juhu and Thane in transportation van delivery system across Mumbai before the lunch hours.

Kiran Bhide, director, Vaidya Sane Ayurved Lab, stated, "We may connect with the local dabbawallas as they have a very good distribution network."

Rohit added, "The concept of the diet meal came up as we noticed that doctors were treating patients for curing various ailments but not many were working around the reasons that lead to these ailments. Around 60-70% diseases are diet related. Our meal would cater food for different diseases. The food that we prepare consists of many herbal organic ingredients. However, we cannot give you the exact details of the ingredients as that would be letting out our trade secret, but we assure the ingredients would be 100% healthy as they are FDA approved."

The menu will change on daily basis but will remain consistent with rice and chapattis. The Group is working out on strategies to obtain clear medical history of its customers.

Bombay Meal offers healthy dabbas to office-goers at workplace Rohit further informed, "We are planning to prepare a questionnaire related to health of a customer which will help us prescribe the right kind of meal for him. We will be monitoring their progress based on a feedback form which we will ask the customers to fill."
